Preference Sets

An EPA Preference Set contains the e-mail classification criteria and mail processing options defined by the mailbox owner.

It is filed in the mailroom under the mailbox's User-ID/Username for use when an e-mail's reception or transmission is in process.

The presence or absence of a Preference Set associated with an actual domain mailbox's User-ID/Username defines whether or not EPA processes the traffic for the box.

The Preference Set also defines the degree of access to domain and Internet e-mail facilities that's  allowed to the mailbox user.
