Domain Mailbox Management

Top  Previous  Next
1.EPA only manages the e-mail traffic of an actual mailbox ONLY when an EPA Mailbox with the same UserName is defined in the EPA Mailroom.

Hence, any domain mailbox can be exempted from EPA management.

EPA provides three types of Preference Sets that can be shared to permit multiple mailboxes to be managed with a single Preference Set.

In an organization-owned domain;

       -  A Domain Default Preference Set manages all mailboxes for which no EPA

          Preference Set has been explicitly defined.

       -  One or more Multi-User Group Preference Set  manages two or more specifically-           designated mailboxes.

In an ISP/ESP-owned domain, an Account Group Preference Set manages two or more leased mailboxes.

When Preference Set is shared, its' User-ID must not be that of an actual domain mailbox.

When a Domain Default Set exists, no domain mailbox is exempt from EPA management.

In an ISP/ESP-owned domain,  it is assumed that EPA management is a processing option available to - but not required of - a mailbox lessee. Hence, no Domain Default Set can be defined.
