Installing and operating EPA is a straight-forward 4-phase process that lets you to achieve the results you want with a minimal investment of time and effort.

 

This manual will guide you through the procedures a System Administrator/Supervisor must  perform.  At each step of each process, the screens you'll see, the messages displayed and your choices are described in detail.

 

You'll use the EPA Window Clerk to access and perform all administrative operations - beginning  each session by specifying he URL of the EPA Mailroom on which you want to operate.

 

In Phase 1, you'll create the basic EPA Mailroom structure necessary to allow Internet access, install the EPA Mail Clerk and and allow others to participate in the mailroom construction processes..

 

In Phase 2, you and others to expand the definition of the mailroom's initial mailbox inventory and customize individual mailboxes

 

Each mailbox created during Phase 1 and Phase 2 is - in effect -mailbox template which needs to be completed by the user for ongoing operation.Hence,  it will be necessary for users to define their criteria ASAP to reach full EPA operation.

 

As initially installed, a mailbox does not permit delivery to or transmission from itself (because there are no filtering criteria to define mail acceptability for further EPA processing).

 

In Phase 3, you'll activate the EPA Mailroom for ongoing operations.

 

In Phase 4, you and others admins maintain and support 24/7 mailroom operation.
