The EPA process is specifically engineered to be integrated into existing (and future) e-mail software products and e-mail systems - not to be implemented as a stand-alone product. Limited-feature versions of the EPA process have been implemented as UNIX® 'sendmail' filters and have been operational since October 2002. One instance supports operation of the proof-of-concept, filter-and-forward 'EPAmail' service. Another instance is used in Pragmas Inc's corporate e-mail server
