Mail Clerk

Mail Room  
The e-mail server host system in which the Mail Clerk software process is installed.  
 
Mail Traffic Log  
A record of the time and date of arrival, content and disposition of every e-mail processed by the Mail Clerk.  
 
Mail Window
 
The e-mail client host system in which the Window Clerk software process is installed.  
 
Multi-Owner Domain (MOD)  
An EPA-managed domain which is owned by a single entity who leases mailboxes to individual entities each of whom manages and operates the leased mailboxes independently of control by the domain owner.

One-Owner Domain (OOD)  
An EPA-managed domain which is owned by a single entity who controls all domain mailboxes and their usages.  
 
Operational Records
 
Transactional records maintained by the Mail Clerk for each mailbox consisting of a Preferences Set History and a Mail Traffic Log.

Preferences Category  
One of the groups of a Preferences Set entries whose name - 'Private', 'Public', 'Wanted', 'New', 'SANames', 'SADomains', SAWanted' - identifies the e-mail field to which the criteria is applied.  
 
Preferences Set  
Criteria which the Mail Clerk uses to classify and process e-mail received at the associated EPA Mailbox.  
 
Preferences Set History  
A copy of each Preferences Set supplied to the Mail Clerk filed with the Mail Room time and date of arrival.  
 
Processing Preferences  
The e-mail processing procedural options to be applied by the Mail Clerk to e-mail received at an EPA Mailbox.
