First, you specify the EPA domain hosting your EPA Mail Room. The Window Clerk verifies the availability of an Internet connection and the current accessibility of the domain.

Next, the Mailbox ID and Key are specified. Only validation of these values gives access to secondary dialogues .

Once access is validated, you will be offered the opportunity to download the Preferences Set currently in use at the EPAmail Mail Room if:
1. You have not previously operated on the selected mailbox from the Mail Window you are using and a Preferences Set exists at the Mail Room; OR
2. The Mailroom Preferences Set has been modified more recently than your local copy.

Secondary dialogues are initiated by the 'I want to . . .' buttons:
   - "Change Mail Processing Preferences"
   - "Change Mail Filtering Preferences"
- "View/Copy Operations Records"

Until you initialize your Mail Processing Preferences, you will not be able to modify the locally-stored Preferences Set in any way or upload it to the EPA Mail Room.

If you modify the locally-stored Preferences Set but haven't uploaded it to the Mail Room, you will be asked if you wish to do so when either changing to another mailbox or leaving the Mail Window.

If you have several mailboxes at a single domain, you can terminate operations on the current mailbox and begin operations on another by entering the desired Mailbox ID as the Current Mailbox ID and following the prompts
