An EPA Preferences Set defines the e-mail content classification filtering criteria and subsequent processing actions to be applied to an EPA Mailbox's mail traffic by the EPA Mail Clerk. The Preferences Set is created and modified at will by the mailbox owner.
All (non-null) Preferences Set entries consist of a text string which represents either 1.) all or part of a URL contained in an e-mail address-fields -'TO:', 'FROM'; or 2.) a text pattern to be compared to the Text-fields - 'SUBJECT:', Message Body, Attached Text Files - present in an e-mail.
Preferences Set text entries which match applicable e-mail text field content cause the Mail Clerk to classify the e-mail as 'wanted'. In this context, 'wanted' means 'apply the specified 'wanted' mail post-classification action associated with the Preferences Set entry matched'.
Failure to find any Preferences Set entry which matches applicable e-mail field content causes the Mail Clerk to classify the e-mail as 'unwanted'. In this context, 'unwanted' means "apply the specified 'unwanted' mail post-classification action associated with the Preferences Set entry matched".
